Last season, Ann Arbor finished fourth in the division with a 6-3-3 record, two points off second place and narrowly missing the playoffs. Flint City went 2-9-1 in USL-W play.

Flint City’s roster will be headlined by returning players including Sammi Woods, a University of Michigan forward hailing from Saline, Michigan, who scored seven goals and assisted another in her third season with the Wolverines in the fall. Woods scored the match-opening goal for Flint City in last summer’s Michigan Milk Cup championship bout against AFC Ann Arbor.

Grand Blanc’s Jenna Blackburn also returns after making history by banging in Flint City’s first ever goal May 7, 2022, at Kettering University’s iconic Atwood Stadium. Blackburn scored twice and assisted once as Flint City downed Ann Arbor 4-2 in the club's W League debut.

Abby Werthman, a standout attacker transferring to Western Michigan from Madonna University, and Avery Kalitta, standout defensive mid for the Wolverines, are back.

New introductions to the Flint City roster include sister pairing Rachel Phillpotts and Grace Phillpotts, both previously Detroit City FC stalwarts. Olivia Thomas, the No. 12 ranked recruit in the nation according to Top Drawer Soccer, joins the squad. So does Kacey Lawrence, another University of Michigan attacker whose most recent tally was five goals and four assists.
