AFC welcomes back star midfielder Bella Gaetino Gaetino was named to All USL W Team last season

Flint City AFC has re-signed star midfielder Bella Gaetino for the upcoming USL W League season, pending league and federation approval.

Gaetino was named to the all-league first team after starting all 12 matches and tallying six goals to lead Flint City (9-0-3) to its first-ever postseason appearance.

The lethal attacking player is committed to join the women’s soccer powerhouse University of North Carolina this fall, joining Flint City AFC teammate Olivia Thomas.

This spring, Gaetino was a non-roster invitee to preseason training camp with the North Carolina Courage of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Previously, she has participated in training camp with NWSL side Kansas City Current.

A native of Dexter, Michigan, Gaetino spent 10 years with youth club Michigan Hawks. At the U-17 level, she was named to the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) Midwest All-Conference second team —,repeating the honor she also received in 2020-2021.

In 2023, she was an ECNL national finalist and National Selection Game invitee. She was named to the playoffs best XI in 2022. In 2019, she was Player of the Game for the Midwest regional all-star team for the International Champions Cup Futures final.
